The world is facing a huge task in defeating global warming while meeting the increased demand for electricity. The demand for electricity is calculated to grow with 60% by 2030. A considerable proportion of the solution lies in changing the electricity production from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Minesto uses tidal and ocean currents to produce low cost, predictable and environmentally friendly electricity.

Together with academic and industrial partners, Minesto will develop and sell power plants that offer a step change in cost for tidal energy.
