Minesto awarded at the 5th Annual international Tidal Energy Summit and Award

This week Minesto visited and presented at the 5th Tidal Today Summit in London. The number of delegates and presentations was the largest ever and the conference gave interesting industry presentations and progress reports.

Prior to the conference a number of prizes was up for nominations. The shortlist of the nominees was chosen by a jury and announced in the conference program. The delegates then voted and determined the final winners. Thus, this was a prestige-prize giving recognition from the tidal sector it self. Minesto won in the category Tidal Energy Technology Innovation 2011 for the Deep Green concept.

with major capital injection and site lease from The Crown Estate.

Swedish Energy Agency

The Swedish Energy Agency today announces their support for experimental development of Minesto´s power device.

The granted 4.9 MSEK will be used to design and manufacture a new prototype that will be tested in lab and off-shore environment.

Site permit

On the 11 of October 2011 The Crown Estate who manages the Seabed in the UK announced that Minesto UK ltd have been granted site permit in Northern Ireland.

Clean Tech

The Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization (CTSI) and its committee of utility and system integrator technologists have recognised Minesto's Deep Green among the Top 15 Utility Solutions 2011.

Over 100 companies spanning the clean energy spectrum applied into the annual Utility Technology Challenge competition designed to match promising new technologies with testing, demonstration, and early adoption partners. 15 emerged as the organizations with the strongest business plans and most compelling solutions to the real-world customers evaluating them. Minesto is the only non-US actor on the list!

Carbon Trust

Today Carbon Trust announce their support to the development of Minesto’s novel tidal energy solution Deep Green.

Carbon Trust provides £350,000 grant for first seagoing trials of the innovative tidal energy device.

Students at Linköping University ranks Minesto as one of the most attractive product development projects to part-take in.
